🦎 Meet the Axolotl!

Scientific Name: Ambystoma mexicanum

Origin: Lake Xochimilco, Mexico

Size: 20-30 cm long

Lifespan: 10-15 years in captivity

Super Power: Can regenerate lost body parts!

🧬 Regeneration Masters

Axolotls can regenerate not just their limbs, but also their organs, including parts of their brain and heart! This makes them incredibly valuable for scientific research.

🎨 Color Varieties

Axolotls come in several beautiful colors:

  • Wild Type (Dark with gold speckles)
  • Leucistic (White with pink gills)
  • Golden (Yellow-gold)
  • Albino (White with red eyes)
  • Copper (Metallic brown)

🌡️ Perfect Temperature

Keep water temperature between 16-18°C. They prefer cool water!

🏊‍♂️ Living Space

Minimum 75-litre tank for one axolotl. Bigger is better!

🍽️ Feeding Time

Earthworms, high-quality pellets, and occasional treats like bloodworms.

💧 Water Quality

Regular water changes and efficient filtration are essential.
